Abstract

Objective: To describe the patients operated on for hypospadias at the Baca Ortiz Pediatric Hospital in the last 2 years. Method: Prospective study. The data obtained in the surgery were taken, measures such as the size of the glans penis, the urethral plate, the urethra in millimeters with the goniometer, as well as the penile curvature in the post-surgical period, patients and/or their parents who underwent surgery for hypospadias in our hospital between 2020 and 2022, affecting their urinary function. We performed descriptive statistical analysis and comparisons between types of hypospadias (SPSSv19), chi square, cross tables, logistic regression. Results: 25 patients met the inclusion criteria, 14.3% of whom underwent a karyotype, the age of surgery presented a mean of 4.7 years; no family history was presented. The most common hypospadias was penile with n: 9, followed by penile scrotal with n: 6, subglandular with n: 5 and cripple hypospadias with n: 5. The techniques used in the institution are STAG first and second time, followed by the STAC. When the data obtained from surgery such as: penile curvature greater than 45 degrees, urethral plaque less than 10 millimeters, and small glans come together in one patient, this patient has a 7 times greater risk of complications with an OR: (95% CI= 2.5+ 25). Claiven and Dindo complications were type I with n: 2 (8%) and it was urethrocutaneous fistula type. The mean days of hospitalization was 7.9%, there is no statistically significant difference (p=0.6). Of them, 98% refer to the 6 items of the penile perception scale as having a score that indicates satisfaction with the appearance of the penis. Uroflowmetry is performed in 10%, which has a normal pattern and Qmax 15ml/s without residue in the bladder echo. Conclusions: Our series shows that hypospadias is a frequent pathology that presents complications despite the technique used based on the characteristics found in surgery.
