The Delphi method is a structured, iterative expert consensus process that employs anonymous questionnaires, controlled feedback, and statistical summaries across successive rounds to address complex or uncertain issues. There is broad consensus in the literature that the Delphi method is suitable for reaching agreement on clinical guidelines, particularly when high-quality direct evidence is incomplete or contradictory.
