Introduction: Voiding cystourethrography (VCUG) since 1903 and currently continues to be the initial diagnostic method for many diseases of the urinary system. Objective: Establish the prevalence of urinary tract anomalies detected by UCGM in children treated at the Metropolitan Hospital - Quito 2021. Method: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out, including patients from 3 months to 17 years of age, with renal and urinary tract anomalies, the hospital's RIS and PACS system was reviewed from January to December 2021, assessing age, sex, history of kidney and urinary tract diseases and reason for consultation. Results: 157 patients submitted to UCGM were analyzed, with ages between 3 months and 17 years, 93 women corresponding to 59.23% and 64 men representing 40.76% of the total. Of the women, 76.34% and 71.87% of the men had normal studies, while 23.66% and 28.13% were pathological, for each group respectively, in the two groups VUR was the most prevalent, coinciding with the reports worldwide. Conclusion: The VCUG should be performed after an episode of UTI that requires hospitalization and with a previous screening ultrasound, the VCUG is the study of choice for the assessment of the anatomy and contributes to the diagnosis of urinary tract pathology, being a fast, safe, and affordable procedure.
